Statement: T-Mobile Expands America's Largest 4G Network

Bellevue, Wash. — Apr. 4, 2011

Today, T-Mobile USA announced the continued expansion of its 4G mobile broadband network to 10 new markets, offering a 4G experience to even more of its customers where they live, work and play. America’s Largest 4G Network™ now reaches 167 markets and more than 200 million people nationwide.

New 4G markets include Ames, Iowa; Anderson, Indiana; Battle Creek, Benton Harbor and Jackson, Michigan; Fort Collins-Loveland, Colorado; Lawrence and Manhattan, Kansas; Springfield, Illinois and Wichita Falls, Texas.

Customers can choose from a wide variety of 4G devices currently available and coming later this spring, including:

  • 4G Smartphones: the fastest 4G smartphones running on America’s Largest 4G network – the Galaxy S™ 4G, the T-Mobile® myTouch® 4G, the T-Mobile® G2® with Google™, the upcoming T-Mobile Sidekick® 4G by Samsung and the upcoming T-Mobile® G2x with Google™.
  • 4G Tablets: the first 4G tablet in the U.S., the Dell™ Streak™ 7, as well as the upcoming T-Mobile® G-Slate™ with Google™ by LG.
  • 4G Laptop Sticks: the upcoming T-Mobile® Rocket™ 3.0, T-Mobile’s first HSPA+ 42 Mbps-capable device, the Rocket™ 2.0, T-Mobile’s first HSPA+ 21-capable device, the upcoming T-Mobile® Jet™ 2.0 and the upcoming prepaid T-Mobile® Rocket™ 4G.
  • 4G Netbook & Mobile HotSpot: the Dell™ Inspiron™ Mini 10 4G netbook and the upcoming T-Mobile 4G Mobile Hotspot.

With a great selection of 4G devices and nationwide 4G, T-Mobile customers can upload videos and pictures to their favorite social media sites, get directions and stream video—and more—all while on the go.

Additionally, in 2011, T-Mobile is doubling the speed of its 4G network to achieve a theoretical download speed of 42 Mbps. T-Mobile customers in Las Vegas, New York and Orlando, Fla., are the first in the country to experience the increased 4G speeds (HSPA+ 42), followed closely by Chicago and further expansion of the New York network into Long Island, N.Y., and Northern New Jersey. By mid-year, T-Mobile expects more than 140 million Americans in over 25 markets to have access to these increased 4G speeds.

The Galaxy S™ 4G, the T-Mobile® myTouch® 4G, the T-Mobile® G2® with Google™, the upcoming T-Mobile Sidekick® 4G by Samsung and the upcoming T-Mobile® G2x™ with Google™ are T-Mobile’s fastest smartphones.  These devices are designed with HSPA+ 4G technology (“4G”); T-Mobile’s HSPA+ 4G network is not available everywhere.  See coverage details at
